Northern Lights over Ithaca! There is just so much going on in this large panorama from Friday's aurora borealis display. Ithaca can be seen in the left, with a spotlight emanating from Cornell University seeming to shine directly into Orion in the sky. Just to the north, the northern lights were putting on a magnificent display over top of the Harting-Boothroyd Observatory. My take on the March 2025 Blood Moon total lunar eclipse from start to finish! This represents about 4 hours of time, with the lead up to the total eclipse on the right side of the frame and the wind down on the left. I knew I wanted to show the whole process in a unique pattern rather than a straight line and ended up falling in love with how the infinity pattern lent itself to the design. At a distance of 460 light years, it is one of the closest star forming regions to Earth.
